12U Vikings Winter Secure Championship Behind Strong Performance from Lilliana Roye

Lilliana R was dominant in the circle, as the pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in Viking Winter 12U's 5-3 victory over Maryland Monarchs 12U on Saturday. Lilliana R gave up one hit and three runs over five innings while walking four.
Maryland Monarchs 12U got on the board in the top of the second inning after Viking Winter 12U committed an error, and Vayda Z stole home, each scoring one run.
Viking Winter 12U flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 5-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Shelbie F that drove in two.
Braylin G took the loss for Maryland Monarchs 12U. The southpaw went three and one-third innings, surrendering five runs on three hits, striking out four and walking four.
Shelbie F and Angelina S were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Viking Winter 12U. Addie U stole two bases.
Adison H led Maryland Monarchs 12U with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Vayda Z stole two bases. Maryland Monarchs 12U turned one double play in the game. Maryland Monarchs 12U were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Sophia G made the most plays with four.
